As I always say with films made from comics, the fans of the comics enjoy the films the most.  This is rather odd because the opposite is usually the case with book-to-film renditions i.e. most Harry Potter book die-hards hate most of the films and you can understand why.  Marvel and 20th Century studios have somehow hacked the art of turning comic book stories to film without being hated by the cult-following that is the comic book fans.  Logan is no different.  Mild SPOILERS from here.

If you are a Deadpool fan you'll remember the parody of a poster that read 'From the Studio that Killed Wolverine' ... yup, they were referring to Logan!  This film for me has got to be a welcome redemption from a string of bad X-Men films after Bryan Singer made the first two movies and Brett Ratner the third (X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men: The Last Stand - those that followed were half-assed) which, again for me, were the best X-Men films before Logan.

The film shows an aged Wolverine (James Howlett/Logan) whose hey-days of wielding the famous adamantium-slashing claws seem long gone and now instead prefers to work as a limousine driver for hire as he secretly protects an equally aging Professor X (Charles Xavier).  The simmering calm doesn't last as an underground research facility, TransGen, seek to recover a young mutant who uncannily falls under Logan's watch engaging him in a series of battles to recover her and a number of young mutant children who were the product of their experiments.  If I said more I'd ruin the film - watch it and if you have, watch it again after reading the comic!
