This will probably be one of the freshest reviews yet given that I watched the film less than 24 hours ago - I mean, after all that marketing (and low-key shade sprayed to various victims through all its promos), how could one miss the Deadpool 2 world premiere? This will also be the second foreign film to review on our blog. Yes, many people have asked me if we only review Kenyan films given the high number of such reviews on our blog so far; truth is NO. We review both local (Kenyan) and foreign films - so in essence we review ALL films. We have published many local reviews because we want Kenyans to begin appreciating their own local content as well as local filmmakers.
Ryan Reynolds is back as the superhero suffering from a chronic potty-mouth, Wade Wilson/Deadpool, in this sequel with a more twisted sense of humour than before. From DC Universe bashing jokes, to the usual darkly comical breaking of the fourth wall, this is a sequel to watch especially given that most 'part 2' films are worse than 'part 1' - Deadpool 2 breaks this norm. Another thing I liked about this film is the fact that, technically speaking, you do not need to watch 1 per se to watch 2, though it would still be good to watch Deadpool.
Casting too was great with a personal favourite being Zazie Beetz who pulled off Domino sweetly! Josh Brolin brings the character of Cable to life so well that we do not se him as Thanos from the Avengers Infinity War, released just a bit over three weeks ago. I will not say anymore and spoil the fun - watch the film!
