This has got to be in my top 200 best films of all time - Hidden Figures.  A story that really needed to be told and one that everyone needs to watch.  A story of 3 women who were more than instrumental in NASA's early years involved in the Space Race with the then USSR.

I honestly believe Taraji P. Henson should have won an Academy Award in 2017 for best Actress in a Lead Role - there, I said it!  She pulls this role (Katherine Johnson) in a way that's nothing short of exemplary.  That said, the film bagged a few of nominations in the Academy Awards (i.e. Best Picture, Best Actress in a Supporting Role - Octavia Spencer - and Best Writing Adapted Screenplay) along with several wins in other competitions.

Pharrell Williams tag-teamed with Hans Zimmer to offer us an awesome soundtrack too.  This film not only shows the amazing power of wit, resilience and brilliance that is the African American woman but also how often the gems of our times are found in the least likely places within the least likely of individuals.  A film I can easily watch over and over again, one that offers inspiration for ages.  If you have not seen this please do rent/buy a copy - it will be worth it.
