Get Out is in my top 100 movies of all time and the number 1 film that I have watched so far this year.  Perfect visual story-telling, perfect sound design (apropos to the genre), perfect casting and perfect execution of a lead role - by Daniel Kaluuya who plays Chris Washington.

I felt that Daniel Kaluuya deserved to bag his Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Lead Role for this film.  He pulled every move believably and, had you seen any of his other movies, you would have not in any way identified the character he plays here with his previous.  That said, the director beautifully weaves the story together into a sweet cocktail of accurate dialogue, sound design and cinematography all that bring out the best of the horror element in the story.

What I loved most about this movie is the subtle but effective way in which it unearths racial stereotypes and the critical issue that is racism, not only in the United States of America but world over.  One (especially people of colour) immediately picks up this theme at the beginning as it enthrals for a continued watch.  I will say this one more time, Kaluuya's performance was magnificent and that on its own is enough reason to check out this picture.
