Aaron Sorkin does it again with Molly's Game.  If you are a political drama geek like me and found yourself hours on end watching series like House Of Cards, then you will remember long before the Spacey small screen hit we had The West Wing from Sorkin.

Aaron Sorkin's prowess in screen-writing was mainly seen through his small screen work and what makes Molly's Game unique is that it was also his feature directorial debut, one that did not disappoint.  With an air-tight script, and what I would say is pretty decent casting, he delivers this biopic in a way that doubly entertains and informs the audience of the interesting phenom that was Molly Bloom.  This is one of those films that remained in my coffers for a long while and only got to watch it a year later after all the women had seen it because of Idris Elba :-)  Again, a role he pulled off fairly well (notwithstanding the strained American accent) as Molly Bloom's lawyer.  Jessica Chastain too was exemplary in her lead role carrying the story of a young woman who, after injury robbed her of a possible career in skiing, turned to the uncanny world of high-end gambling as a broker who would reap thousands of dollars daily from high profile Americans.

The story also plays out the psychological turmoil that most individuals go through, especially from a troubled relationship with a parent (Kevin Costner plays Molly Bloom's father), weaving it neatly with an expose of the ominous life within the gambling underworld.  I urge every film lover to watch this one.
